For travellers into mangas, video-games, toys and a lot, lot, more, Akihabara is not just another Tokyo district, it is a pilgrimage destination. And even the neophytes will find something interesting, amusing and sometimes shocking, in this part of Tokyo.

While the area is not huge (roughly from Akihabara station going north to Suehirocho station...), each building has 6 to 10 floors with sometimes a different store per floor, meaning it would take a few days to visit them all!  So if you are seeking a particular item, it is wise to study one of the area's map, such as this one.
